SB Nation's own Bill Connelly posted his bowl projections today and there are a number of local teams in the mix. Bill not only projected the bowls, but also the records of all the teams for the rest of the season. He's got Alabama and Stanford both playing for the national title with undefeated records, Oklahoma playing Boise State again and Oklahoma State also in a BCS bowl, playing LSU in the Sugar Bowl.
↵But, what do we care about? Local teams...
↵University of Houston (12-1) over Tulsa in the Conference USA Title game - He's 68 percent sure of this, which means Houston is headed to:
↵Houston vs. Louisiana Tech (6-6) in the Liberty Bowl
↵Texas A&M (8-4) vs. Arkansas (9-3) in the Cotton Bowl
↵Texas (7-5) vs. Penn State (9-3) in the Insight Bowl
↵Baylor (8-4) vs. Washington (8-4) in the Holiday Bowl
↵TCU (9-3) vs. Utah (6-6) in the Las Vegas Bowl
↵The Aggies have not had a good run in the Cotton Bowl lately, losing the last two to Tennessee and LSU. This game would be pretty good as a rematch to that comeback victory by the Razorbacks earlier this season. It'd also make a nice prelude before the Aggies head to the SEC next season.
↵Texas and Penn State is a classic matchup in a not-very-exciting bowl. Same with Baylor/Washington, though it also shows how far the Holiday Bowl has fallen lately in the bowl tiers. The most disappointing fall may be TCU getting into the Las Vegas Bowl, as they stare out the window longingly for the time they can get one of those Big 12 bowl tie-ins.
