After going 7-1 while star junior forward Khris Middleton recovered from knee surgery, the Texas A&M Aggies are at No. 22 in both major college basketball polls this week.
The 6'7 210 small forward returned Saturday in Texas A&M's 67-54 victory over Louisiana-Monroe, scoring 24 points on 8-14 shooting while also getting 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
The presence of their multi-dimensional star will be essential if the Aggies want a victory in their biggest non-conference game of the season, a road date at No. 13 Florida on Dec. 17.
Junior forward Ray Turner stepped up to lead the team in Middleton's absence, averaging 13 points and 6.3 rebounds so far this season.
Texas A&M currently trails three Big 12 teams in the polls -- Baylor (No. 6 in the AP, No. 7 in the coaches), Missouri (No. 8 in the AP, No. 10 in the coaches) and Kansas (No. 12 in both).
