Texas A&M lost four of its last five games including a four overtime loss to Kansas State and a 27-25 last second loss to Texas in the season finale.

Northwestern also finished 6-6 on the season but won four of its last five games including an upset victory over Nebraska before falling to Michigan State in the season finale.
