Texas A&M will be staying close to home for their bowl game when they take on Northwestern in the Meineke Car Care Bowl in Houston on New Years Eve.

The Aggies fired head coach Mike Sherman earlier this week after a 6-6 season. Tim DeRuyter will handle the interim coaching duties for the bowl game. Texas A&M lost four of its last five games including a four overtime loss to Kansas State and a 27-25 last second loss to Texas in the season finale.
Northwestern also finished 6-6 on the season but won four of its last five games including an upset victory over Nebraska before falling to Michigan State in the season finale.
