Aggies Maroon And White Game: Freshman QB Johnny Manziel, RB Michael Shine In Offensive Win

The Aggie offense edged the defense in Texas A&M's annual Maroon and White game on Saturday. Using a scoring system that grades plays from scrimmage, the final came out to 133-119. Junior running back Christine Michael carried the ball 11 times for 52 yards and two touchdowns. Four Aggie quarterbacks also helped to rule the day for the offense, combining for 476 yards on 37 of 51 passing, including three touchdowns.

Freshman quarterback and former Kerrville Tivy High School phenom Johnny Manziel is doing everything he can to stake an early claim to the number two quarterback position. Manziel completed eight of nine passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns.

On the defensive side, the Aggies notched seven sacks, and blocked a field goal. Two sacks came from linebacker (joker position) Caleb Russell, who was voted to represent the student body in the Aggies opening game against SMU at Kyle Field on September 3rd.
