Another college watch list is out, and this one also has some local flavor. The cool thing about the Butkus Award (won last season by Texas A&M's Von Miller) is that they also give out a high school award.
↵On the college list are A&M's Garrick Williams and Texas' Emmanul Acho and Keenan Robinson. Williams is an unlikely choice, as he plays inside in A&M's scheme and doesn't get as many sack opportunities as other players. He's also never been a flashy player, but has steadily improved since he's been an Aggie. It's less surprising that Robinson and Acho made the list, as they should be key leaders on a new Longhorns defense.
↵The Houston area also got a bonus on the high school list when Brenham linebacker Tim Cole was named to it. Only 52 players in the nation were named to the list, so Cole's status is pretty special. The 6-foot-2 senior is a four-star recruit, is the No. 99 player in the country and the ninth-best outside linebacker prospect according to Rivals.com. Cole is committed to the University of Texas.
