Highly-Touted 2013 Quarterback Commits To A&M

Kohl Stewart, the St. PIus HS quarterback out of Houston, committed to Texas A&M yesterday afternoon. Stewart is rated as one of the premier quarterbacks in the Class of 2013, and this was certainly a great acquisition for Mike Sherman's squad.

Stewart (6-3, 185) had a tremendous sophomore season last fall at St. Pius throwing for over 3,000 yards and completing just under sixty percent of his passes. His profile on Rivals hasn't been updated recently, but his rating on their fan average system is just over four stars.

Stewart is also quite the right-handed pitcher, and this dual-sport athlete could be playing baseball in College Station as well. He notes that A&M baseball coach Rob Childress and Mike Sherman have discussed his ability to play both sports as an Aggie.

His highlight video suggests that he has great success throwing the deep ball, and he looks very comfortable in the pocket.

With Johnny Manziel and Kohl Stewart waiting in the wings after Ryan Tannehill graduates, A&M will be set at the quarterback position for several years to come.
