Aggie Basketball Signs College Station Guard

The Texas A&M basketball team continues to pull in the top talent from its own back yard. After getting a commitment from star Bryan High point guard J-Mychal Reese (who dropped 50 points in a game last season), head coach Billy Kennedy announced that he had signed 6-foot-5 guard Alex Caruso from A&M Consolidated.

Caruso's father played in college and is now the Associate Athletic Director for Game Operations at A&M. Caruso apparently had offers from Colorado, Richmond and Texas Tech but chose A&M over Colorado after visiting Boulder last weekend.

Caruso has been getting better and better every season since starting on the varsity two years ago. He's also been part of a very competitive Consol squad over the past two years. He marks the fourth backcourt player Kennedy has signed since coming on board, which makes me wonder about his system. Is he going to run them in and out or use a three-guard lineup?

At any rate, it was a good, under-the-radar signing for Kennedy, who's off to a great start as a recruiter.
