Former Texas A&M standout Donald Sloan has signed a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Hornets. Sloan played in the NBA D-League last season and began this season with the Erie Bayhawks where he averaged 24.8 points in five games. He has appeared in 54 games in the D-League and has career averages of 12.0 points and 4.7 assits per game.

Sloan left the Bayhawks to take part in training camp with the Atlanta Hawks. Sloan impressed the Hawks who kept him on the roster as insurance while Kirk Hinrich recovered from off season shoulder surgery. He appeared in five games for the Hawks averaging 1.2 points and 1.0 assists per game.

Once Hinrich returned, Sloan became expendable for the Hawks who waived him on January 26. New Orleans released Carldell and DaJuan Summers earlier this week before inking Sloan.
