NFL Draft 2012: Ryan Tannehill's Stock Rising?

Wes Bunting over at the National Football Post talks about former Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who is one of the hot names in this draft. What's Bunting's prognosis? Much the same as it's been all season:

With such limited experience at the quarterback position it's not a case of where this guy is right now, but where he can be in 2/3 years. I love the talent and the overall production from a guy who doesn't have much experience playing from under center as he plays way beyond his years. A potential franchise quarterback in my mind.

Maybe I'm biased, but from everything I've seen from Tannehill, I'd be worried about his NFL future. I just don't think his decision-making is very good. He'll need a lot of time to get ready to be a starter, and probably won't get that where he's going to be drafted. Yes, Mike Sherman's offense will have him better prepared for the NFL than a spread look would have, but I don't see him making an impact quickly.

No, I think he'll probably end up following a similar career path to former Aggie quarterback Stephen McGee, who's been a backup in Dallas since being drafted.
