The Big 12 announced its yearly awards on Sunday, with the conference's leading scorere J'Covan Brown landing on the first team and two Aggies finishing on the honorable mention team.
Brown has certainly exploded into his potential this year, giving Texas a reliable scorer that they expected when he came on board last year. However, he couldn't quite carry them like another scoring threat like Kevin Durant did. Either way, Brown certainly deserved his place on the first team.
↵As for A&M senior David Loubeau and junior Elston Turner, it's a nice finish to a disappointing season. Loubeau, in particular, ends his time in with the Aggies with some untapped potential. I remember seeing him in his freshman season and realizing how gifted he could be offensively. However, he was never able to be effective enough on the defensive end to be a force.
↵For Turner, it's a nice opening note to his two-year Aggie career. The versatile guard gave Billy Kennedy a nice option in the backcourt and another scoring option when Kris Middleton was injured or ineffective.
