Texas A&M Spring Practice 2012: RB Christine Michael Is A Surprise Participant

Spring practice began for the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday and running back Christine Michael was taking part. This is quite amazing since Michael is just over four months removed from tearing his ACL.

Head coach Kevin Sumlin talked about Michael's progression and is very pleased with the progress he has made:

"He's way ahead of where I thought he would be," Sumlin said of Michael's rehabilitation from the knee injury. "I had to tell him to go sit down, and I look back up and he's back in there."

Sumlin added that he's going to "have to have a meeting with (Michael), but a good meeting. He wants to play."

Michael will be limited in spring practice as to not overwork his surgically repaired knee so that he can be ready for the season opener on Aug. 30 against Louisiana Tech, but more importantly their first ever SEC game the following week against the Florida Gators.
