The Colts have the first pick in the draft and since they decided to send future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning packing they will be using that No. 1 overall pick on a quarterback. Luckily for them, Andrew Luck, who has been dubbed the best prospect since Peyton Manning by many analysts, is likely going to be their pick. If he isn't (he is), they could go with the Heisman Trophy winning quarterback out of Baylor who has captivated scouts, Robert Griffin III.
Who they won't go with is this year's draft class' third-best quarterback prospect, Texas A&M's Ryan Tannehill. However, that hasn't stopped Colts owner Jim Irsay to talk up Tannehill on Twitter.
According to ESPN, Irsay tweeted that Tannehill is the "gem" of this year's draft class and suggested that if teams are interested in him they may think about trading up.
"Tannehill is a hidden gem in this draft, a quiet secret who was always sneaking up to #3..you want him,you better talk to Zigi The Biggie!," Irsay wrote Wednesday afternoon.
By saying "Zigi The Biggie," Tannehill is of course refering to Minnesota Vikings owners Zygi Wilf. The Vikings have the No. 3 overall pick and they selected Christian Ponder in the first round last year so they have no need for Tannehill. However, teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Browns and others could be interested in making a last-minute move for the former Aggies quarterback.
