New Texas A&M AD Eric Hayman Agrees To A 5-Year, $5 Million Contract

The contract terms of the newly hired Texas A&M athletic director Eric Hayman have been released, and the deal will pay Hayman $5 million over five years. That is over a 30 percent increase over what Texas A&M was paying their prior athletic director Bill Byrne. Byrne was making $690,000 per season running the athletic department before he resigned.

Hayman did excellent work at South Carolina which played a big roll in Texas A&M hiring him away. He helped lead South Carolina to great success. The baseball team went to three straight College World Series and won two, the football made it to their first ever SEC title game in 2010 and he was able to land Frank Martin from Kansas State to rebuild their last place basketball team.

If Hayman can bring similar success to the Aggies athletic programs then his $1 million per year contract is going to be worth every penny.
