Five SEC schools had players named to the National Football Post's Preseason All-American Team. Four -- LSU, Alabama, Georgia and Florida -- you could have guessed, but newcomer Texas A&M has a selection as well.
↵Luke Joeckel, a 6'6 310 junior OT, was one of the rare young offensive lineman to immediately make the transition to the college game. He's already started over 20 games in his young career and was a first-team All Big 12 selection as a sophomore.
↵As a junior, he'll be expected to provide time while the Aggies break in a new QB and a new pass-first offensive system under Kevin Sumlin.
↵His job will be more difficult due to the players he is going to face every weekend in the SEC, including two NFP All Americans from LSU's defense: junior DE Sam Montgomery and junior S Eric Reid.
↵Those two, along with PR Tyrann Mathieu ("The Honey Badger") and P Brad Wing, will be expected to carry LSU after the departure of several of last season's stars (Morris Claiborne, Michael Brockers) to the NFL.
