Texas A&M Vs. SMU 2012: Aggies Fans Happy After 45-Point Victory

Texas A&M beat Southern Methodist University 48-3 on Saturday. The win improved the Aggies' record to 1-1 on the season, while the Mustangs dropped to 1-2. A&M started slowly, but once the Aggies found their rhythm, they coasted to the easy victory.

Over at Good Bull Hunting, they had some observations about the game. They had some positive things to say about the defense, including the following:

DEFENSE. Loved these guys today. The front seven continued to be active, physical, and relentless. Gilbert was harassed from the onset and had Damontre Moore in his ear hole all day.

There are still concerns with the Aggies' over-reliance on the passing game, and some would like to see a bit more running:

The running game did little to dissuade my uneasiness early on. I'd still like to see us be able to line up behind our top notch offensive front and physically maul an inferior opponent, but perhaps that isn't the Sumlin/Kingsbury way.

Play calling concerns aside, Saturday was an impressive win for A&M. They'll host South Carolina State next Saturday as they look to improve to 2-1. Next up for SMU will be the TCU Horned Frogs on Sept. 29.
