The two most anticipated games of the 2012-13 bowl season highlight the weekend action in the NCAA, as No. 9 Texas A&M takes on No. 11 Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl and No. 1 Notre Dame faces No. 2 Alabama in the BCS Championship.
Heisman Trophy winner and freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel will lead the Aggies in the Cotton Bowl on Friday night at Cowboys Stadium, as Texas A&M looks to cap a wildly successful season with a big bowl victory. Oklahoma stumbled a bit down the stretch yet won five straight after a loss to Notre Dame and is expected to engage in what many expect to be a shootout in Arlington. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT with coverage on Fox.
On Saturday, Pittsburgh will face Ole Miss in the BBVA Compass Bowl, as Pitt earned a spot in the bowl game with big wins over No. 19 Rutgers and South Florida to finish the season. Kickoff is at noon on ESPN. Meanwhile, No. 25 Kent State takes on Arkansas State in the GoDaddy.com Bowl, kicking off at 8 p.m. CT on Sunday on ESPN.
Finishing off the college football season is the Discover BCS National Championship game, Monday night at 7 p.m. on ESPN. Notre Dame finished the season as the lone top team to finish undefeated, while Alabama made it to the title game despite a big loss to Texas A&M. This game will pit the top two defenses in the nation against one another, with Alabama favored by 10 points in the game.
