The Texas Longhorns are hosting the West Virginia Mountaineers in what should be an exciting matchup between a pair of the best teams in the country. The winner of this game will have a huge leg up for the Big 12 title race, and the loser will likely be eliminated from any hope of playing for the BCS national title.
West Virginia is coming off of their epic 70-63 win over Baylor last week where quarterback Geno Smith had a career day by completing 45-of-51 passes for 656 yards and eight touchdowns. Smith needed all of that production to get the win.
Texas supposedly has a solid defense, but they were also in a shootout with Oklahoma State which they were able to escape from with a 41-36 game. Head coach Mack Brown blames his defense for missing tackles which allowed Oklahoma State to be successful. That is something Texas must improve on if their defense is going to try to slow down West Virginia's offense.
