The Texas Longhorns lead the Iowa St. Cyclones, 20-7, at halftime in Austin, Texas. The No. 17 Longhorns will have the ball to begin the second half.
After taking a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, the Longhorns scored late in the second quarter with a nine-play, 65-yard drive. Quarterback David Ash capped the drive with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Barrett Matthews. The Texas lead was 20-0 after Anthony Fera missed the extra point.
Iowa St. got on the board just before halftime, scoring on a 14-yard touchdown pass from Steele Jantz to Quenton Bundrage inside the final minute of the half.
Ash was highly efficient in the first half, completing 15-of-16 passing attempts for 245 yards and two touchdowns. Mike Davis already has 105 yards receiving and a touchdown on five catches.
For the Cyclones, Jantz has completed 10-of-18 passes for 102 yards and the touchdown, but has also been intercepted once.
