As college football's regular season comes to a close on Saturday, many teams will not have a final chance to make an impression on the bowl games. Teams like Texas A&M and LSU managed to have very positive seasons, but didn't have the success necessary to earn trips to the SEC Championship Game.
However, the No. 18 Texas Longhorns will have a final chance to bolster their bowl stock on Saturday when the team travels to face No. 6 Kansas State. While the game means little more to the Wildcats than holding on to a spot in the Fiesta Bowl, a win could mean a lot for the Longhorns' bowl hopes.
Texas A&M and LSU are each ensured a bowl game after seasons that landed them in the top 10 of the BCS rankings, but the same can't be said for the Rice Owls. Although the Owls are bowl eligible, a 6-6 season might not be enough to earn an invitation.
The Houston Cougars didn't finish bowl eligible and will have to wait until next season for another game.
