VIDEO: 2012 NCAA Tournament East Region: Texas Is Not Predicted To Make Too Much Noise

The Texas Longhorns are not on too many lists as a possible sleeper team that could emerge from the East region of the NCAA Tournament, or at least not by our resident college basketball expert Nick Fasulo.

The Syracuse Orangemen headline the region, but Fasulo has some reservations about their defensive rebounding when going up against Kansas State in the Sweet 16. If the Orange met with the Vanderbilt Commodores in the Sweet 16, Fasulo could see Vandy shooting its way out of Syracuse's trademark zone defense.

"You saw what happened when Syracuse lost in the Big East tournament," Fasulo said. "If someone gets hot, it could be early quickly."

Syracuse lost to the Cincinnati Bearcats in that tournament, which is the Longhorns' first opponent. The Ohio State Buckeyes are the second seed in the East region, which Fasulo could see ending up in an Orangemen vs. Buckeyes showdown, possibly favoring Ohio State.
